WEMA in Action

As temperatures rise this summer, Wilson County EMA reminds everyone to take precautions to stay safe in the heat. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, even if youβre not thirsty, and avoid drinks with caffeine or alcohol. Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, wear lightweight, light-colored clothing, and never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle. Check on elderly neighbors and those without air conditioning. Know the signs of heat-related illness, such as dizziness, nausea, and confusion. Seek medical help if symptoms occur. Letβs work together to keep our community safe this summer.

Wilson County Emergency Management Agency is currently accepting applications for individuals who want to make a difference in our community.
