Joey started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in October 1989 and has over 24 years with the department. Joey was promoted to Lieutenant on 1995 and Shift Commander in 1999. Joey served as Shift Commander for A shift for 15 years prior to being appointed Director in November 2013. He accepts the Director position with a strong background in Emergency Medical Services, Fire Suppression, Hazardous Materials, and Emergency Management.
Fire Chief/Deputy Director
Jeremy started Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 1997 as a volunteer and started full time shift in 2000 and has over 13 years with the department. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2004 and then to A shift Commander in 2014. Jeremy is an Advanced EMT, Firefighter, Rescue Diver, Swift Water Technician, and Hazardous Materials Technician. He holds certifications as a Fire Instructor and Vehicle Extrication Instructor.
Brian started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in August 1990 and has over 25 years with the department. He is a Fire Fighter, Paramedic, Hazardous Materials Technician, and Tactical Paramedic. Brian has several instructor certifications including EMT. He served as the Training Officer from 1999 to 2010 and as a tactical paramedic with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department from 2001 til present. Brian was promoted to EMS Chief September 2010. Brian is responsible for all EMS operations within the Department.
Training Division Chief
Shannon started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 2005, she has over 10 years with the department. She is a Paramedic / Fire Fighter and a Haz-Mat Specialist. Shannon has full time responsibilities of instructing and/or managing classes in Emergency Medical Services, Fire Suppression, Rescue, Water Rescue, and Hazardous Materials. She has numerous instructor certifications that allow us to being high quality courses to the training division.
Logistics Division Chief
Marty started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 1997 as a volunteer and has over 15 years with the department. Marty started full time as Captain in 2004. He is an Advanced EMT, Fire Fighter, and Hazards Materials Technician. Marty serves as the Logistics Division Chief and oversees of the Volunteer and Communications Division.

Lee started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 1993 and has over 20 years with the department. Lee started as a dispatcher in 1993, went to full time on C shift in 1994. Lee is a Paramedic, Fire Fighter and Haz-Mat Technician. Lee was promoted to Lieutenant in 2000 and appointed Shift Commander of B shift in 2004. He oversee’s daily operations for B shift.
Shift Commander - C Shift
Danny started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 1985 and has over 28 years with the department. Danny is an Advanced EMT / Fire Fighter. He oversee’s the daily operations for C shift.
Daniel L. Cowan
Planning Division Captain
Daniel started Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 1994 as a volunteer. He was hired full-time as a dispatcher in 1995, and started full-time on what is now A shift in 1996. Daniel is an Advanced EMT, Firefighter, Driver Operator III, Smoke Diver, Rapid Intervention Team Technician, and Swift Water Rescue Technician. He is a commissioned Fire Instructor I, and Traffic Incident Management Instructor. In June of 2014, Daniel was selected as EMA Planning Officer for the agency. As planning officer, he will chair the Outreach & Local Emergency Planning Committees.
Rick started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in May 2005 and has over 8 years with the department. Risk is also a Paramedic. He has an Associate of Applied Science in Radio Communications from the Community College of the Air Force and an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management with a major in Accounting from Volunteer State Community College. Rick retired as a Chief Master Sargent after 33 years (including 4 years active duty) from the
U. S. Air Force Reserve in 2009.
The compliance position began in September 2014. Mark has been with Wilson County for 15 years before obtaining the position. Mark is a Paramedic, Firefighter, and Haz Mat Technician. The compliance officer is responsible for all areas of compliance including safety, respiratory protection, exposure control, HIPAA, quality improvement, protocols, and competency evaluations of personnel.
Roger McKinney, M.D.
Dr. Roger McKinney started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 2002 serving as our medical director. He is a long time resident of Wilson County and takes great pride in helping our department. Dr. McKinney is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the Wilson County Medical Society, the Tennessee Medical Association, and the American Society for Psychoprophylaxis in Obstetrics. Dr. McKinney is very active with the department attending monthly meetings with crews and involved in the Quality Improvement program.
Terry started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency in 1999 and has served over 14 years with the department. Terry started on C shift and moved to the maintenance department. Terry is the Shop Foreman of the Vehicle Maintenance Department overseeing all vehicle maintenance and repair.
Sara started with Wilson County Emergency Management Agency as an explorer in 1996. Sara started full time in dispatch in 2000 and has served over 13 years with the department. Sara was communications supervisor until 2004 when she moved to the administrative assistant.
